Free Food!!
Well I have now experienced the phrase "poor starving college student!!" Yesterday we were soo hungry after we had our break the fast meal, which was an egg sandwich and pear slices. So today we were scavengers for free food!! And it was a success. So back to yesterday we went to church and it was way good. People from different countries and such! So we met some cute girls Holly from Idaho, Tori from Colorado, and Megan from here Laie. Holly found our house afterwards and she was envious of our house and took us to her house to see how small it was and boy was she right! Our house seems so nice compared to the Canal House! So we chatted with her and her roommates and all became buds. Then we went to this like Culture Club Introduction that was supposedly at 7:30 and we got there at 7:40 and then at 7:50 they were like, "Okay thanks for coming, so and so is going to give us the closing prayer" so we were like uhhh what time did this thing start? But soon after we heard, "and OH there will be ice cream outside" and boy did that catch our attention! So it was worth the walk down there cause we were starving! From that we met 3 rad girls who taught us some pigeon talk. Suka from Fiji, Pauline from New Zealand and Nita from Texas we talked stories with them for about 2 hours then went to go see their dorms (which i am SO grateful I am not living in) Suka told us that her roommate was from China and she couldn't pronounce her name so she named her Eva. So Suka was like, "I have to best roommate ever her mom packed presents for me, and a ton of them!" When we went to go see her dorm, Eva was there and... she gave all of us presents!! Haha their cute little chinese bags that smell like China (i'm assuming) and we just hung them up.
But ya way neat. So today we were told if we came to the service project in the morning at the PCC at 7:30 we would get a free BREAKFAST! So of course we were there bright and early this morning cleaning out gateway's chairs and tables and setting them up at Marquesa (because they are renovating Gateway) so some hard manual labor but it was cool and we met some neat people! Then breakfast was AMAZING! Ham, Eggs, Rice, and fruit. Then after that we got our TB shot, and new student stuff, then went home napped on my porch in the sun, then went back for orientation, and then went to the beach and read my fitness magazine and decided to do some lunges, planks, mountain climbers, and push-ups on the beach. Now I just got home from HEG (the new name for FHE) and we played catch phrase and THANKFULLY bishop and his wife drove us home so that saved 20 minutes of our night. Woo. Oh ya so I live on Laie point which means we have to hike up and down a hill everyday. So catching rides with people makes our day! Like mad.
