Giants Causeway Coastal Route

After getting ready we went down stairs and Viv had breakfast all set up, plates and bowls, cereal options, milk in a glass container, fresh mango juice, it was so adorable. We talked about our plans for the day and she gave got us the correct route to take the coastal route to Giants Causeway and we were on our way!

This was hands down my favorite drive in Ireland we took. Northern Ireland for the win. We saw green everywhere, sheep all over, huge cliffs, ocean, everything! We stopped a few times on the side of be road to snap pictures of pretty things. First was climbing up a cliff to get an awesome view of the ocean, the behind the scene pictures of us trying to get the money pictures are so great. Then during the drive we changed the lyrics to "this land is your land, this land is my land" and it goes like this: "this land is your land, this land is my land, from Cork to Dublin, from Dublin to Belfast, from Causeway to Scotland, from castle to castle, to Harry Potter, to all over London, this Land was made for you and meeee" catchy huh? It will probably make top 20 one day.
Then Kylee and Haley had an idea to get video of Kylee saying, "when I say baa you say baa", and moving the GoPro to a sheep on the second baa but Haley would be making the noise for the sheep. So for a while we were on the hunt to find sheep that were close enough for us to get too so we could make this video. We saw the perfect opportunity with 4 sheep close to the gate and there was a spot to park by it and we ran out to them and they all walked away.. ;( we drove some more and found another spot that worked and they all ran away as well. So lame... They did it still but the sheep were not as close as we were hoping.

Next spot we stopped was some remains of a castle and a ton of sheep were covering the area it was picturesque. Then we finally made it to Giants Causeway!! This was really really neat. It's a natural rock landmark and the rocks were formed 4 million years ago by lava and then the ocean water freezing it. It's like nothing I have ever seen before. You'll have to look up more info online about it!
We had fun taking pictures there and soaking up our last few hours in Ireland. It was then time to drive to the airport and return our little rental car that we grew to love! Such a relief for me to be done driving on the left side of the road, and I'm so grateful we didn't get in a car accident!

We then hopped on a plane to head to Edinburgh, Scotland!! Once we got to the city centre we were in LOVE! Everything was amazing and it was dark outside! We felt like we were in an old school movie set nothing seemed real! We then got a taxi from the bus station to our AirBnB place and he Taxi's were even awesome. They're old fashioned like what you see in movies from Scotland. Everything just kept getting better. We got to our place and hiked our luggage up 3 floors of stairs and then quickly left to go see more of the Royal Mile and find us some food! They said to walk through the park which was dark but they ensured it was safe so we trusted them, and they were right there were seriously no sketchy people any where around. I was amazed at how clean, friendly, and safe we felt at 8:00 at night. I don't even feel that safe in Gilbert at night walking around. We only walked for a little bit up Royal mile but couldn't stop oooing and awing at everything we saw. I can't even explain how unreal it all felt. We ate at No. 1 Pub and had amazing service from Graham & a small group playing folk music. Graham let us try Haggis which is a traditional Scottish dish and guess what it is made of? Lamb heart, liver, and lungs all masked together. I wanted to throw up when I heard that's what is was... But we were all brave and tried it and it was actually not even bad! The more you ate the better it tasted. Very surprised. Then we shared a toffee pudding with ice cream which was to die for! We headed home after that because we knew we wanted to get an early start the next day to get as much of Edinburgh in as possible! But of course no night could end without a FaceTime date with Lucas. Miss him like crazy but so grateful for FaceTime!!
