May- First Mothers Day

We took Myla for her first swim in the pool and she was not a fan. In her defense it was pretty cold, so I’m guessing that’s why she was so unhappy.

The 4th we did a wedding out at Peralta and we showed up and most of the stuff had not been setup yet. I guess the wedding planner totally dropped the ball and didn’t do what she promised, so the bride was stressed out and crying and we just helped setup for the first hour and did t get any filming done. Once the bride did the first look with the groom she was much happier and the rest of the night went smooth. Myla is 10 months now and is standing up a lot and getting more personality. That Sunday we celebrated Micah’s birthday and Kelli had the funny idea of saying our favorite memory in Spanish. Kasey & mines were so bad! We just read from google translate. May 6th started my first scuba diving class with my brothers and dad. We did about 1.5 hours of class work and then 2 hours in the pool. Haley Delgado is back from her year of traveling so she came over and we caught up a bit and then she hung out with Myla so I could edit. Kylee Patterson has the idea of recreating a music video with her brother because he is Rick Atley’s doppelgänger so I helped out with that and it was pretty funny. Megan sessions is going to edit it and I can’t wait to see it.

May 10th I got back on my bike again for the first time in like 2.5 years. It felt so good to be out there & exercising.
May 12th was my first Mother’s Day! Lucas made a painting with Myla’s hands and it was adorable. I’m so grateful my body is able to have children and that we have Myla in our life. Truly is nothing greater.

Myla started swimming lessons this week and she was not a fan at all. She cried the whole time for the first 8 days and the last 2 days she finally enjoyed it. I had to be in the water with her so they taught us how to help them float on their back, roll from stomach to back, and blow bubbles. It was a fun outing for us to do for the 2 weeks and Tayzia joined us which was fun!

Nanna took us girls and Bryan to see Newsies at Hale Theatre and that was a fun night out. The next day May 18th my dad, brothers and I had our first lake dive for our scuba certification. It was a little cold especially the deeper we got but it was fun to do it all together!
That night Lucas and I celebrated our anniversary and went to Vito’s for dinner, and then went and found electric scooters at riverview to ride along the pathway to Tempe Towne lake. So we took the brand Lyft and had a blast riding on the Pathway. We got just past the Tempe Art Center and then turned around and we wanted to get cold stone at Tempe marketplace. So we turned the scooters off and it said we were out of area service and would get fined if we left them there. We thought that wasn’t a big deal since we would start them back up and ride back to Riverview. Well after our ice cream we tried to activate the scooter again and it wouldn’t work!! So we dragged them for about 30 minutes trying to get to an area we thought would be in service and it wasn’t. So we laughed it off and then ditched them and went back to Tempe marketplace to see if we could find scooters there. We found one Lime brand one and we’re trying to game plan what to do. Then about 10 minutes later a group of people came and dropped their scooters off right where we were! So we took them and made it back to riverview to our car. It was quiet the night.

We went to the zoo the following week to use up our thing on the pogo pass and we took Myla on the carousel ride and she wasn’t too sure about it. She just looked shocked the whole time.
May 25th I made my first ever German chocolate cake!! Lucas was so excited to have that and my family loved it too! Then that afternoon we went on a Mesa temple tour since Jorge and Cari Lu we’re in town and they wanted to see it. It was so crazy to see the whole Tempe all torn up with nothing but framing inside. My dad showed us all the things they have been working on and it was pretty neat. That night we got Myla to take her first few steps! It was so exciting and she was so excited to keep trying! Our goal is to get her walking before we go on our cruise so we have one month to accomplish that! Sunday we took grandma Bodine to my parents house for dinner and my family was loving watching Myla take steps from person to person. Myla was loving all the attention of everyone getting excited every time she did it. We celebrated Nanna’s birthday too and we got her a pie pan that says “Nanna’s Famous Pie” she squealed and said she loved it. Monday was Memorial Day & we went to the Phoenix Cemetery with extended family & uncle Brad led the program.
Then Lucas and I took Nanna & Papa to Liberty Market to get her free birthday lunch and then to creamistry for some free ice cream. She felt like a million bucks getting all the free food!
The next day I went to Andrea’s wedding dress shopping and she found such a beautiful dress! It was fun to see her try them all on! Wednesday I went to Brunch with The Marbella YW leaders and had a nice time catching up with them. Then that afternoon went to get Bahama bucks with Andrea and Drew so I could meet him. He is SUPER nice and outgoing and I’m so glad Andrea found him!
Friday May 31st was Lucas’ white coat ceremony! They had about a 30 minute program and then had them all come up one by one to receive their white coat. Now he is ready to go out and start his clinicals. We went to Gecko grill after for lunch and then that night went to the Millett’s for pizza and swimming! That wraps it up for the month of May!
